“There is hope for a tree. If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.” Job 14:7.
I was hugely encouraged when I read these words from the book of Job! All our books were like a tree with many branches, taking the truths God has taught us down the years to the Body of Christ around the world. With the closure of Sovereign World in January, that tree was suddenly cut down. Forty years of precious and hard-won ministry experience was about to be lost to the Body of Christ. Urgent action was needed!
First I had to launch a new publishing operation (PHP Books – Peter Horrobin Publishing) and then I set to work updating and reformatting the text of every title, so that they could all be made instantly available across the world, using Amazon’s amazing printing and distribution service. And, less than twelve months later, it’s exciting to be able to share that from the stump, new shoots have sprouted and nothing will be lost!

What an absolutely wonderful announcement! 🙏 It is truly uplifting to read that, out of what first appeared to be an ending with the closure of Sovereign World, a blessed new beginning has emerged: PHP Books. ♥️ The fact that all these precious writings — testimonies, healing and discipleship books — have not been lost but are now preserved, renewed, and made available again around the world fills me with deep gratitude. This new publishing venture is a true gift to the Body of Christ and to all who seek hope, healing, and truth.
I fully agree that founding this new publishing house was the right and necessary step. Jesus’ words about the importance of “salt” capture this perfectly.
Matthew 5:13 reminds us:
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.”
Mark 9:50 teaches:
“Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”
And Luke 14:34–35 warns:
“Salt is good, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is of no use either for the soil or for the manure pile. It is thrown away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
These passages describe so clearly what is at stake: if spiritual teaching, testimonies, and Christian books — the “salt” are not preserved and passed on, something essential is lost. But through PHP Books, this salt keeps its flavour. It continues to nourish, strengthen, and bless people across the world.
