Peter’s camera died sometime last year and he was ever so pleased to buy an inexpensive but compact Sony in time for our last trip to Israel. He came home with some wonderful pictures including this one from our time at Galilee.
Our tour guide suggested that we took some time alone to reflect and pray. It was a flat calm day without direct sunshine and the water was misty and tranquil. As I gazed upon the well known scene, which cannot have changed in 2000 years, I felt an urge to turn my gaze downwards into the waters of the Lake itself. The only obvious sign of life was some gasses, bubbling up to the surface from the mud on the bottom.
I felt a strong sense that the Lord was saying that although everything may look and feel tranquil and peaceful on the surface, there was unseen movement and eruption going on below.
We live in a world where we like to think everything will stay the same in the sense of our peaceful existence, but I felt a clear warning from the Lord that a shaking is taking place and darkness is coming across the face of the earth, even if at this time we cannot see it and it may feel safe and quiet. It is time to prepare ourselves and to dig deep into knowing the Lord, His ways and His Word as we watch and pray.
We should not be taken unawares through complacency or passivity. The signs are there if we watch and listen. Right now, for example, a crisis has erupted in Egypt. Underneath all the powers and pillars of world governments, God is moving and shaking. Isaiah Chapter 19 came powerfully to our attention – it’s all about Egypt. Beneath the surface things are definitely bubbling!
This is my first contribution to the blog! Peter and I are doing our best to move into twenty-first century communications! We are the most ordinary of folk but we do serve an extraordinary God and it is such a privilege share with you some of our adventures with Him. This blogging business is certainly, for me, stepping out of my comfort zone into another adventure with God into the unknown! How much easier it would be to stay in the safe and familiar – but without change there is no growth and without growth there is no fruitfulness. So, here goes………….!! And thank you for sharing the journey with us!
Dear Peter and Fiona. This is the first time I have seen your blog and find it most upbuilding and encouraging! My wife and I have been enduring as christians for over thirty and twenty years respectively.

I’m finding this blog a great blessing. I have been going to Ellel Pierrepont for the past year to receive healing. Next month I am going on my first visit to Israel – I am going with the expectancy that the Lord will show me amazing things as I travel in the footsteps that Jesus trod 2,000 years ago.
I relate to the message that you received about things appearing calm on the surface, but underneath there is conflict. A few weeks ago I had a dream. I was in a very arid place, there was dust flying about, people were screaming, in other words – chaos. Then a man dressed in Arab clothing who was holding open a door that was in the side of a rock shouted to me to get inside. I went inside and was surprised to find that it was a church, but though outside was absolute chaos, there were hardly any people in the church. Then another frame appeared and the church was full of people. I believe that this represents revival, but the church in persecution.
I shall look forward to reading your insights when they appear.

Not sure if you remember me but I attended the Leading from the Front School at Blairmore House this past November. Just wanted to congradulate you on a job well done at the school and now this “new beginning” to share what the Lord puts on your heart to write.
I definately can relate to the season that you sense we are in. As a CEO/President of a major lentil exporting company and as a farmer I can truly testify to the challenges we have to grow, process and supply the global demand for vegetable protein. I have a strong sense that the destiny of Canada is revealed in Rev 22 “the leaves of the trees are for the healing of the nations.” We are in a battle to fulfill this destiny as the weather in Canada and globally has negatively impacted the production and quality of food. Just look at Russian, Australia and now India who have all have production problems. Food inflation is up 10% in North America and with nearly 3 billion people earning $2.00 or less per day in the world we will inevitably witness the consequense of the shortage of affordable food unless we have a turn around in the weather.
We will be praying with farmers this spring according to 2nd Chron 7:14 and then to ask the Lord to bless our seed, our land and for favorable weather so we can be a blessing to others.

Hello,
This resonates with my first visit to Galilee in 1996 and humbled I felt in the very place where my Lordspent time with those first disciples. We had communion there on the shore. I carry the memory of the peace of the scenery and the the water washing over the stones as we prayed and shared.
Yes, the events im Egypt is concerning, but there is hope in the words of the prophecy in Isaiah 19.
