Blessed

Ephesians 1:3, NIV
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”

Ephesians Chapter one is a favourite chapter of mine. If you have any time today, try and read the whole chapter. Do we know how rich we are in Jesus Christ? We all need that spirit of wisdom and revelation, otherwise everything just becomes words. God has recorded here for us that we give Him pleasure. Perhaps some of us need to hear and receive His heart for us today.

God’s unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by bringing each one of us to Himself through Jesus. He has always wanted to do this, and it gives Him great pleasure. His wonderful kindness is poured out on each one of us, because we belong to His dearly loved Son. God’s grace is so rich that He purchased our freedom through the blood of Christ. So, as we go through today, we can know our sins are forgiven, and we have eternal life.

At the right time God will bring everything on heaven and earth together under the authority of Christ. When you and I believed on Christ, He identified with us by giving us the Holy Spirit, and it’s through the Holy Spirit that God has marked each one of us out as His own. We go forth as consecrated men and women of God. Our inheritance as joint heirs with Christ is totally secure.

He did all this so that we’d bring Him praise and glory. Our heavenly Father takes great pleasure in us today, and the seal of the Holy Spirit guarantees our place in the Father’s heart. Romans 8:16 says God’s spirit witnesses with our spirit that we really are children of God.

Prayer: Father, we thank You today for every spiritual blessing that is ours by Your grace. Help us to know that we’re rich beyond measure in Jesus, and that we’re fully accepted through Christ. We’re ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, and our inheritance is secure. Thank You, Lord, and as I go through this day, seal in these truths by Your Spirit at work in me. Amen.
